The Chicago Chapter of ICRI in partnership with the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois (SEAOI) will present The Assessment and Repair of Concrete Structures, a full-day seminar, on November 7th, 2019. The session will provide the background for investigation and repair of concrete structures from a forensics perspective and will include a laboratory program to demonstrate repair applications. The seminar is designed for all professionals interested in the repair of concrete structures.

Attendees of the Full Program will earn 6.5 hours of continuing education credit

Attendees of the Lab/Networking Program Only will earn 2 hours of continuing education credit

Learning Objectives

  • Learn the signs of concrete deterioration and the underlying mechanisms that lead to visible deterioration
  • Understand methods and equipment used to assess existing structures including non-destructive testing elements
  • Learn methods for analyzing and repairing existing concrete structures
  • Learn ways to increase durability of concrete repairs and assess the service life of the structure
  • Learn experiences, best practices, and lessons learned from recent repair projects
  • Attend hands-on demonstration of various repair techniques and materials

Laboratory Program 

After the classroom portion, attendees will visit various exhibits in the WJE laboratory to engage in hands-on activities discussed in the classroom portions. Exhibits will be led by industry experts and include the following topics:

Registration and breakfast will be available at 7:30 am, and the program begins at 8:00 am. Lunch will be provided. This is a members-only event. Registrations is $250 for the Full Program and $100 for the Lab/Networking Sessions only.  Types of registration below:

  • Laboratory Program and Networking Event (No Seminar)
